The Tea Centre offers true ‘Tea Culture’ with an instructive tour around the tea factory. After this tour, you would come to the finer points in tea production and its proud heritage.

When you enter into the Tea Centre, everybody wants to see the “Mackwood” Logo clear like Hollywood.

The tea centre is right on the Kandy to Nuwara Eliya road. The views from the car park are gorgeous overlooking a valley covered with tea bushes and trees.
You need to see this view with your own eye, distinctive landscape of mother nature.

Tell you frankly, we did not buy the chocolate cake but ordered the Tea 🙂
The Restaurant area of the Tea Center
I never drink tea without sugar(this is the SriLankan way) but I drank that milk tea without any sugar.
All our friends enjoyed the tea as we were looking for a break with a cup of tea.
One thing that you need to know when you go to Nuwara Eliya, you do not find many good places to have a cup of coffee or tea or something to eat therefore make sure you have a cup of tea from Mackwoods Labookellie Tea Centre
The Service Quality of Mackwoods Labookellie Tea Centre
The service is NOT 5 star. If you happen to visit this place during the season, you do not get a good service. They take a bit of time to serve you.
Do not get upset about these little delays, just enjoy the surroundings of the place. it is a marvellous place to relax. if you are in a hurry to go, do not visit this place It is not a place to rush or just visit.
You need to enjoy mother nature with a freshly brewed premium cup of tea so, you need to allocate a bit of time out of busy schedule :-).
Believe me, it is worth it!!!!
Milk Tea and Plain Tea that we ordered.
[If you look at the tray, you could see how messy is :-). You do not get 5-star quality service but it is a place to relax and enjoy the landscape of the tea factory while enjoying a cup of tea.. ]
Service staff may give priority service to Foreigners. I guess, they think or expect a better tip from them :-).
They talk very loud and do not follow real Restaurant-level service and proper equity. My best advice is, do not get upset about these little things.
Enjoy the Surroundings!!!! 🙂 and enjoy your cup of tea.

The Price of The Tea
The price of the Gift Teas is a bit more expensive than other tea.
Being a Sri Lankan, we do not mind to pay that price to get a premier tea as most of the Sri Lankan good tea selections are exported and we do get to buy from Sri Lanka.
It is hard to find good tea for the local citizens, so we love the tea centre tea 🙂
Flavoured Tea Packs
If you are foreigner, just looking to buy normal tea, do not buy from this tea centre.
If you want to buy normal tea, just tell your tour guide or just barge into a local shop, you can buy from USD 1 to 5 USD.
Please do not get upset about the price.
They sell Branded tea for people who want to buy premier quality tea to give Gifts as souvenirs or own consumption.
Car Parking and the Tea Cente
If You come from the UK or Europe
If you are a foreigner from UK or Europe where you enjoy very high Extra Premier Quality tea, then is not a place to taste an Extra Premier Quality tea.
What you find in the UK and Europe, you do not find in Sri Lanka as Extra Premier Quality tea is exported, it is not available anywhere in Sri Lanka.
Be aware so that you would not grumble about the tea that you buy.
If you want to enjoy tea taste, order a teapot. so that you can make your own tea. you can add milk, sugar and etc.
Be aware that. The best advice is, drink tea without milk or sugar.
Summary of the Mackwoods Labookellie Tea Centre
The tea centre service is not an excellent and quality of the tea is not so exorbitant. But if you want to enjoy the Beautiful sounding and give thanks to Mother Nature, this is the must place to visit.
Another good thing about this place is, the sanitary facilities are excellent. if you want to call for nature or pee, this is a good place to do so.
After enjoying a quality tea, you can release yourself too. They do not charge for this 🙂
